Updates
The system, the CMS and the plugins. Security patches first, major versions by agreement — so an update does not break your site at the worst possible moment.
Most trouble does not start with an attack. It starts with an update nobody applied, a backup nobody ever restored, or an outage you find out about on Monday morning. This is exactly what the service watches — and once a month it tells you what happened.
Two sentences from real jobs that cost more than ten years of this service.
The security plugin switched itself off during an update. Nobody noticed, because the site kept working. Four and a half months later the system held fifty-nine backdoors.
Protection that cannot tell you it has stopped working is not protection. That is why the report arrives even when nothing happened.
During my own audit I found that ten storage buckets holding application documents were not backed up at all — a single copy existed. For years. Nobody had tried a restore, so nobody found out.
Until someone has restored it, you do not have a backup — you have files you believe in.
It runs by itself. The manual part is the response when something happens.

Off the server and in more than one place, with version history. A watchdog speaks up when a backup does not run. And the restore is tried regularly, for real.
Automatic banning of addresses that try passwords or probe for known holes. On my own systems that is around two hundred bans a day — most of which nobody ever sees.
A check that the site answers. Alerts go out only after the second failure in a row, so a micro-outage does not wake you — and a message comes when it is back.
HTTPS certificates renew in time. File permissions are checked so nothing stays publicly reachable that should not be — source code, configs, old backups.
What was updated, what was blocked, how the backups went, whether there was an outage — and what I suggest you decide. One page, readable without a dictionary.

Your own server, more sites, a custom application or a cloud environment — I quote after a call, because it differs by orders of magnitude depending on what runs there. Work beyond the service is $32 an hour and always after your approval.
Feel that somebody should first look at where you stand? An audit establishes that once — then this service keeps it from coming back.
So it is clear up front.
I need to know what you have and where it runs — that is ten minutes on the phone. Then I say which tier fits and whether something needs sorting first. I call on working days, usually the same day.
